Bolton will be without Karl Henry for upcoming games against both Norwich City and Preston North End, after he was hit with a two-match ban.

Henry, who has made 23 appearances since joining Wanderers on a free transfer from Queens Park Rangers last September, picked up his 10th yellow card of the season in Tuesday's victory over Sunderland.

With Darren Pratley yet to figure since breaking his leg against Hull City on New Year's Day, combined with news that Josh Vela could be ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with ankle ligament damage, Henry's absence is sure to be felt as Phil Parkinson's side look to edge closer to Championship survival.

Jem Karacan, whose outing against Sunderland was his first since September, and Derik Osede are likely to be the preferred choice in the two holding midfield roles over the next fortnight, while trialist Jan Kirchhoff could provide another option should he impress enough to earn a deal ahead of the Trotters' weekend trip to Norwich City.
