David Coote will referee Tuesday's Sky Bet Championship fixture between Bolton and Sunderland at Macron Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, while the Black Cats were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Brentford that same afternoon.

Coote, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 26 matches so far this season - issuing 103 yellow cards and four red.

His most recent outing was on February 13, when he was the man in the middle for Sheffield Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Derby County in the Championship. The Nottinghamshire official produced six yellow cards in that game, split evenly at three apiece.

Coote's last match in charge of Bolton was in October 2017, when they were 2-1 winners over Sheffield Wednesday in a Championship clash at Macron Stadium. Six cautions were issued that afternoon, with Mark Beevers, Josh Vela and Filipe Morais amongst the recipients.

He has never previously refereed a Sunderland fixture.
