Gary Madine is on the verge of a move away from Bolton, after it emerged he has been granted permission to undergo a medical at Cardiff City.
After turning down four separate bids from the Bluebirds, as well as entering contract discussions with their leading goalscorer, Wanderers' resolve has finally been broken with a deal which could eventually see them pocket upwards of £6million - potentially making Madine the third most expensive sale in club history, behind Nicolas Anelka (£15million) and Gary Cahill (£7million).
Madine has scored 26 goals in 107 appearances since joining Bolton on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday in July 2015 and recently became the first player in over a decade to hit double figures in back-to-back seasons.
He will undergo a medical in the Welsh capital on Wednesday afternoon, after which he is expected to put pen-to-paper on a deal that will reportedly see him double his current wages at Macron Stadium.
