Bolton's Sky Bet Championship game at Cardiff City, scheduled for January 27, will be rearranged after the Bluebirds progressed into round four of the FA Cup.
Wanderers were due to head to the Welsh capital 10 days from now, with supporters having booked tickets and travel in advance now finding themselves out of pocket as a result.
After being held to a goalless draw by Mansfield Town on January 6, Cardiff emerged victorious in a third-round replay at Field Mill on Tuesday, setting up a televised fourth-round clash with Manchester City on January 28.
With FA Cup ties taking priority over EFL fixtures, Phil Parkinson's side will now face a midweek trip to the Cardiff City Stadium as league competition begins to enter the business end of the season.
Confirmation of the revised date will be announced in due course.
