Bolton have completed the signing of Everton midfielder Harry Charsley on a loan deal which will run through until the end of the season.

Charsley, who has been with the Toffees since the age of nine, has progressed through the academy system at Goodison Park and finished as top goalscorer last season - with 12 strikes in 23 outings - as David Unsworth's under-23 side were crowned champions of Premier League 2.

The 21-year-old made his senior debut in a UEFA Europa League tie against Apollon Limassol in December, playing 89 minutes in a 3-0 victory, but with first-team chances restricted under Sam Allardyce, Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson believes Charsley can help fill the void created by a number of injuries at Macron Stadium.

"We have brought him in until the end of the season," Parkinson told The Bolton News.

"We're a little short in the midfield department with Cullen, Henry and Pratley all being out.

"Harry can play in the wide positions, he can play in behind the striker. He's a very versatile player and he's got a real energy about him.

"He will go straight into the squad for Brentford."
