Bolton boss Phil Parkinson had nothing but praise for Mark Little, after he produced a Man of the Match performance in Saturday's win over Barnsley.
A free transfer arrival from Bristol City in June, Little has made 17 appearances for Wanderers and netted his first goal for the club as they moved out of the Championship relegation zone by taking all three points against the Tykes.
In addition to his maiden strike, Little provided the assist for Gary Madine's opener and Parkinson hopes the display will provide a platform from which to build on during the upcoming festive programme.
"Mark Little was up against a very good player in Harvey Barnes," Parkinson told Tower FM.
"He's someone we tried to get in the summer but couldn't get the deal done. He's a very talented player.
"We spoke to him and Sammy (Ameobi) about seeing that side of their team off.
"Mark scored one and made one, and their lad was brought off. You can't do much more than that!
"I thought it was an excellent performance from Mark and he's got to build on that."
