Bolton boss Phil Parkinson is facing the prospect of a touchline ban, having been dismissed in Saturday's 5-1 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Parkinson, along with his opposite number Nuno Espirito Santi, was sent to the stands shortly before half-time at Molineux, after the pair clashed following a late challenge from Trotters defender David Wheater.
Both managers played down the dispute in post-match interviews, but with Parkinson being reprimanded for a second time this season - having also been sent off in August's Carabao Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday - he could be set for further punishment by authorities.
The Football Association have given the duo until 6pm on Monday, December 4, to respond to the charges, after which an Independent Regulatory Commission will make their judgement.
Parkinson will be free to fulfil his duties at the weekend, when Bolton play host to Barnsley at Macron Stadium.
