Ken Anderson has confirmed Bolton did make an approach to Crystal Palace to re-sign former player Lee Chung-Yong on transfer deadline day.

Wanderers concluded just the one deal on the final day of the window, completing the free signing of Craig Noone on a two-year deal from Cardiff City, but reports earlier in the day suggested a potential loan move was in the offing for Chung-Yong.

The 29-year-old has started just nine league games in two-and-a-half seasons at Selhurst Park and although Anderson says enquiries were made, he revealed the Eagles were unwilling to lend a hand due to insufficient cover in their squad.

"Craig wasn't the only player we were looking to bring in," Anderson told bwfc.co.uk.

"We made an enquiry to bring our former player Chung-Yong Lee back on loan from Crystal Palace, but unfortunately they had no cover for him and we were unable to strike a deal."
