Reports on Thursday morning suggest Bolton are looking into the possibility of re-signing former midfielder Lee Chung-Yong on loan from Crystal Palace.

As the summer transfer window enters its latter stages, with the deadline set for 11pm, Wanderers, boosted by Wednesday's announcement that Ken Anderson had struck a deal to take control of 95% of the club, are said to have made their move to bring the South Korea international back to Macron Stadium.

The 29-year-old joined Bolton in a £2.2million transfer from FC Seoul in July 2009 and made a total of 195 appearances before completing a move to Palace in February 2015 for an undisclosed fee, understood to have been in the region of £500,000.

Chung-Yong has endured a miserable time at Selhurst Park, however, starting just nine league games during his two-and-a-half year spell with the Eagles, with both of his outings so far this season coming from the substitutes' bench.

Having seen a once-promising career stall as a result of a broken leg, suffered in a pre-season friendly at Newport County in July 2011, Chung-Yong struggled for form upon his return but showed signs of returning to his best under the management of Neil Lennon, before the looming expiry date of his contract, combined with the lure of Premier League football, saw him depart Bolton after five-and-a-half years at the club.
