Tom Walker and William Jaaskelainen faced each other last week, as their search for life after Bolton continues.

The duo, released by Wanderers at the end of June, met at the Lyme Valley Stadium in Newcastle-under-Lyme, as Newcastle Town played host to Port Vale in a pre-season friendly.

Walker, who joined Bolton at the age of nine and went on to make 20 senior appearances for the club, played 45 minutes and was on the scoresheet as Vale ran out comprehensive 8-0 winners over the Northern Premier League side.

Jaaskelainen, meanwhile, was introduced as a second-half substitute for Town, as they continue to build a squad capable of improving on last season's 7th-placed finish that saw them narrowly miss out on a place in the play-offs.
