Lee Anderson has responded to criticism from Dean Moxey, after it emerged Bolton had failed to pay bonuses and a number of salaries for June.

Reports on Saturday suggest Wanderers players are owed a collective figure in the region of £500,000 after securing promotion to the Championship, while a number of individuals received no wage at the end of last month.

Club officials state outstanding monies will be transferred to accounts by Monday but upon reading comments from Moxey on Twitter, in which he branded the situation a 'joke', Anderson expressed his disappointment.

Posting on his own Twitter profile, Anderson said: "Moxey: playercost (sic) an average of £12k/aplast (sic) yr + wasn't paid late every month.

"Comments very disappointing particularly when he was told salary in his a/c Monday."
