Blackpool will complete the signing of Max Clayton on July 1, when his contract at Bolton comes to an end.

Clayton, who joined Wanderers on a free transfer from Crewe Alexandra in September 2014, endured a miserable spell during his time at Macron Stadium, with a succession of serious injuries restricting him to just 30 appearances in all competitions.

After recovering from a combination of hamstring and knee problems, Clayton had been back in first-team contention since the turn of the year but was largely restricted to a substitute role under the management of Phil Parkinson, with his final outing coming in the final 20 minutes of the defeat at Oldham Athletic in April.

Clayton will get the opportunity of a fresh start at Bloomfield Road, where he is expected to play a key role following their promotion to League One at the end of last season.

He has signed an initial two-year deal with the Seasiders, who have the option of a 12-month extension.
