Bolton Wanderers have revealed almost 7,000 season tickets have been renewed or purchased in the opening fortnight of trading.

Despite attracting criticism in certain quarters for increasing prices on the back of a successful promotion campaign, Wanderers have reported sales are on course to match, if not surpass, the 10,000 figure they reached at the start of last season.

Fans have until June 10 to take advantage of an early purchase discount, after which prises will rise as the club begins to prepare for the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship.

Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, Daniel Scott, Ticket Office Manager at Macron Stadium, said: "Momentum has really picked up since we beat Peterborough United on the final day of the season and there is a real excitement in the air for the 2017/18 campaign.

"We are delighted with the progress so far with many supporters purchasing season tickets for the very first time.

"We encourage everybody who wants to get behind Phil Parkinson next season to buy their season ticket ahead of the June 10 early purchase deadline to get their ticket at the best price possible."
