Bolton are to receive an additional 'six-figure sum' for Zach Clough, after Nottingham Forest retained their place in the Championship.

Clough left Wanderers on the final day of the January transfer window, signing a four-and-a-half year contract at the City Ground in a move reported to be worth up to £3million.

The 22-year-old has impressed in his brief time at Forest, scoring four goals in 14 appearances, as Mark Warburton's side survived relegation to League One with a 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town on the final day of the season.

That triggered a clause in Clough's contract, meaning Bolton are to receive an undisclosed bonus payment.

A report by the Nottingham Post states Wanderers also negotiated a sell-on clause as part of the transfer, while another bonus payment would be triggered in the event that Forest won promotion to the Premier League whilst Clough remains a part of the squad.
