Bolton will move to the top of League One on Saturday, providing they win at Chesterfield and Scunthorpe United fail to beat Millwall.

Following Monday's outstanding display in a 4-0 victory over Gillingham, Wanderers make a first ever journey to the Proact Stadium for a first league meeting between the sides since March 1989.

Phil Parkinson is expected to name a team similar to the one that cruised to three points against the Gills, with no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game.

Mark Beevers took a slight knock but completed 90 minutes and has shown no ill-effects in training, so Derik Osede looks set to continue on the substitutes' bench, with Tom Thorpe the preferred partner for Jay Spearing in midfield.

Lewis Buxton continues to be assessed for an ongoing back complaint, although there is more positive news on both Darren Pratley and Max Clayton, who could feature for the development squad next week as they bid to return from long-term injury issues.

Liam Trotter is available after a spell on the sidelines with a hip problem, but both Mark Howard (thumb) and Mark Davies (knee) remain on the treatment table.

Parkinson may decide to rotate his squad in upcoming games due to the busy festive period, but is expected to name his strongest available team as Wanderers bid to top a league table at Christmas for the first time since 1977.
