Josh Vela has taken the November Goal of the Month award in League One, after receiving more than 55% of a public vote.

Vela's strike came in the 2-0 victory over Millwall on November 19, as he opened the scoring in the 17th minute at Macron Stadium with an outstanding volley which flew into the top corner of the net.

Upon receiving the award, Vela admitted he is enjoying life in a more advanced role - one which has seen him notch a career best six goals so far this campaign.

"I must admit I didn't expect to hit it so sweetly but it was a good goal," Vela told EFL.com. "All of the fans voted for me too so it's a massive thanks to them really.

"With the goal itself, I just remember the ball dropping to me on the edge of the box and I thought I'm going to have a strike here and luckily it went in.

"It's about time I started adding few goals to my game too - I've been playing further forward so that's what I've got to do as well as assisting them.

"I'm really enjoying my football at the minute though. I'm getting a lot of chances and creating a lot of goals which is brilliant."
