Phil Parkinson's desire to face Premier League opposition will become reality, after Bolton were drawn against Crystal Palace in the third round of the FA Cup.

Following victory over Sheffield United on Sunday, Parkinson openly revealed his wish to be drawn against one of the 'big guns'.

The draw for round three, which was made in London on Monday evening, sees Wanderers line up against Alan Pardew's team, who were beaten in last season's final by Manchester United.

Bolton and Palace have faced each other 39 times since their first meeting back in 1964, the most recent of which ended in a goalless draw in a Championship clash at Selhurst Park in January 2013.

Their only previous encounter in the FA Cup came at the fourth round stage in 1982, when Wanderers crashed out of the competition with a 1-0 away defeat.
