Bolton are to play host to Sheffield United, after the two sides were drawn together in the second round of the FA Cup.

Wanderers progressed through to this stage courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Grimsby Town on Saturday, while the Blades were emphatic 6-0 winners over Leyton Orient at Bramall Lane on the same afternoon.

The two clubs have met on nine previous occasions in the long history of the competition, with the Trotters coming out on top in their most recent meeting - a 2-0 success at the fourth-round stage back in 2010.

In total, Bolton have emerged victorious in four of their nine FA Cup encounters with the Blades, who have walked away from the other five as winners themselves. The sides have never required a replay to be separated.

They have met twice previously in round two of the competition, with Sheffield United 2-1 winners in 1902, but Wanderers can boast a club-record victory in the other instance, a 13-0 success at Pikes Lane in February 1890.

Ties will take place over the weekend of December 3/4, 2016.
