Phil Parkinson was left discussing controversial refereeing decisions once again, after Keshi Anderson was sent off in Bolton's defeat at Walsall.

Anderson, who is on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace, was booked after entering the field of play without permission as he was introduced as a substitute for Chris Taylor at the Banks's Stadium.

He received a second yellow card in stoppage time, meaning he will serve a one-match suspension for the visit of Bradford City, leaving Wanderers boss Parkinson fuming that 'common sense' hadn't prevailed.

"I thought generally it was a poor (refereeing) performance," Parkinson told BBC Radio Manchester.

"For Keshi Anderson to end up sent off for two of the most innocuous decisions you're ever likely to see.

"I was stood with the fourth official and he's kind of pushed Keshi on the pitch, and I was going 'no' as Chris (Taylor) hasn't come off yet.

"So are they saying that Keshi was trying to cheat by wanting us to play with 12 men? No, he wasn't. He was being told to go on by the fourth official and surely common sense has got to prevail there where the fourth official just pulls the referee over.

"He shouldn't be booked for that, and the second one is just farcical."
