Mark Davies will undergo scans on a knee injury, amid fears he may have torn a cruciate ligament in Bolton's draw at Charlton Athletic.

Davies was stretchered off the field early in the second half at The Valley, after collapsing to the ground following a challenge with an Addicks midfielder.

Speaking after the game, Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson admitted it was too early to put a timescale on Davies' lay-off, but expressed concern as to whether the 28-year-old would be able to return this season.

"It's too soon to say, but it doesn't look good," Parkinson told BBC Radio Manchester.

"It's a terrible blow for us because I've been really impressed since I've been here.

"When you look at the Darren Pratley injury and now Mark, and young Zach (Clough) being out, to be where we are in the league is a great credit to the lads.

"We've got a few days and I'm going to have to sit down with Ken (Anderson) and rectify a few problems because suddenly we are looking very light on numbers."
