Zach Clough will be treated for a hamstring injury, after being forced off just 33 minutes into Bolton's 2-1 victory over Fleetwood Town.

Clough, who had recently recovered from a hamstring strain suffered in pre-season, was making his first start of the campaign, but now faces the prospect of additional time on the sidelines after picking up a new problem against the Cod Army.

When asked about the extent of the injury, Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson revealed he doesn't expect the strain to be serious but conceded losing Clough was a major blow.

"It's not serious but he just felt, as he described it, a pop in his hamstring," Parkinson told BBC Radio Manchester.

"It's lower down from where he's had before and it's very frustrating because he's a key player.

"We lost (Jamie) Proctor today. We could have included him but decided to just be sensible with him. Then with losing Cloughy as well, it takes away a bit of the ammunition."
