Rob Hall Joins Oxford United on Free Transfer

Oxford United have completed the signing of Rob Hall, who joins the club on a free transfer following his release at Bolton.

Hall, who turned a loan spell with Wanderers into a permanent arrangement in July 2013, enjoyed a three-month stint with the U's in 2011 whilst on loan from West Ham United and links up with the club once more as they prepare to embark on life in League One.

The 22-year-old has signed a two-year contract at the Kassam Stadium, but manager Michael Appleton admits patience will be key as Hall is likely to be sidelined for the remainder of the year due to a ruptured cruciate ligament sustained during his time on loan at MK Dons in April.

Speaking to Oxford's official club website, Appleton said: "He knows the club and knows what we are looking to build here.

"He has played most of his football at a higher level and is still only 22 so we believe that there is plenty more to come from him.

"It's not a short-term signing because he is still coming back from injury and it will take a while to get him fit and involved, but once he does that he is certainly going to give us plenty of threat in those forward positions."
