Neil Danns made his first outing of pre-season on Saturday, after it emerged he has been taken on trial by Bury.

Danns is available as a free agent following his release by Bolton and could potentially face his former employers next season, should he do enough to earn a contract at Gigg Lane.

The 33-year-old was named in David Flitcroft's side for a tournament match against Blackburn Rovers, who secured the victory courtesy of an early strike from summer signing Danny Graham.

Matches consisted of two halves of 30 minutes, with the mini-competition also involving Morecambe.

Rovers followed up their win over the Shakers with a goalless draw with the Shrimps, who then went on to win the tournament as a result of a resounding 4-0 win over Bury later in the afternoon.
