Bolton have rejected an offer from an un-named Premier League club for in-demand defender Rob Holding.

Holding has made a spectacular rise to fame over the last 12 months, winning Wanderers' Player of the Year award after just 30 appearances at senior level.

The 20-year-old was the subject of a bid from Arsenal in May, which was subsequently turned down by Trotters chiefs, and Holding's valuation has since risen after he made his debut for the England under-21 side in May's Toulon Tournament, in France.

Holding has one year remaining on his contract at Macron Stadium, but looks increasingly unlikely to see out that deal as Bolton look to raise funds to finance a squad capable of winning promotion out of League One this coming season.
