Bolton have confirmed the appointment of Matt Barrass, who joins the club from Bradford City in the position of head physio.

Barrass, grandson of Wanderers legend Malcolm, held the same position during his time with the Bantams and follows Phil Parkinson, Steve Parkin, Lee Butler, Nick Allamby and Tim Breacker in making the switch to Macron Stadium.

A former player, Barrass spent his youth at Manchester United, before going on to have spells at San Diego Nomads, Bury and Radcliffe Borough.

His grandfather represented Bolton between 1945 and 1956, scoring 27 goals in 357 appearances, and was part of the club's FA Cup final squad of 1953.
