Bolton chairman Ken Anderson has confirmed the club have taken up an option to buy back office facilities attached to Macron Stadium.

Anderson recently revealed he was exploring the possibility of repurchasing assets sold under the previous ownership of Eddie Davies, with a view to opening up new commercial ventures and potentially selling at a higher rate in the future.

Now, after stumbling across a clause in the sale of office space to Prescot Business Park Ltd, Wanderers have completed payment of a 10% deposit and hope to conclude a deal in the coming weeks - with Anderson explaining negotiations prevented him appearing at the unveiling of new manager Phil Parkinson.

"Originally we were assured there was a 12-month option to buy back the offices but when we did our due diligence we found that if there was a change of control it became three months," Anderson told The Bolton News.

"And that expired on Friday. Another little surprise for us.

"That is why I wasn't there on Friday when the manager was unveiled. But in hindsight I wasn't needed, he handled the whole thing very well indeed and I watched on the internet. I even got a paper the next morning to read how it all went!"
