Neil Lennon's three-month exile from football management is over, after he agreed a two-year deal to become the new boss of Hibernian.
Lennon, who left his role at Bolton on March 15, replaces former Wanderers defender Alan Stubbs at Easter Road and is tasked with leading Hibs back into the top-flight of Scottish football, after two successive failures in the play-offs. He will be assisted by Garry Parker, who held the same role during the duo's time in England.
The 44-year-old may have struggled during his time at Macron Stadium, but is more fondly remembered North of the Border after a hugely successful four-year spell in charge at Celtic.
Announcing the impending arrival of Lennon, Rod Petrie, chairman of Hibs, said: "We are delighted to have secured a Head Coach of Neil's calibre and profile, and we look forward to him bringing his drive and mentality to our campaign to win the Championship this season and secure promotion back to the top flight of Scottish football."
Adding to Petrie's comments, Leeann Dempster, chief executive of the club, added: "As soon as Neil was identified as the outstanding candidate we were determined to bring him to Easter Road.
"He has managed at a very high level, taking Celtic to the last 16 of the Champions League, and we were attracted by his ability to get the most out of players and his driven, winning mentality.
"On behalf of everyone at Hibernian FC we would like to extend a warm welcome to both Neil and Garry."
