Bradford Deny Manager Link, as Bolton Stall on Unveiling

Bradford City have denied reports linking manager Phil Parkinson with a switch to Bolton, whose plans to announce a new boss have hit a snag.

Speculation pairing Parkinson with a move to Macron Stadium began to surface on Sunday evening, with senior officials at the club expecting to reveal their successor to Neil Lennon on Monday.

Those plans appear to be on hold, at least in the short-term, with some rumours stating negotiations over the identity of an assistant manager could be to blame for the current hold up.

One man it appears won't be announced is Parkinson, however, with Bradford chief operating officer James Mason confirming no official approach has been received for the Football League's fifth longest-serving manager.

"Bradford City can confirm there's been no contact with the club from Bolton Wanderers about Phil," Mason told Telegraph & Argus.

"I've just spoken to Phil Parkinson who is on a well-earned break on holiday with his family and who is busy already preparing for next season with Bradford City.

"We don't know where the rumours came from but can only suggest it's that time of year when the names of successful managers crop up for vacancies."
