Bolton Expect to Name New Manager on Monday

Reports on Sunday evening suggest Bolton are on the brink of appointing a new manager, with an announcement potentially just 24 hours away.

Senior officials at Wanderers held final interviews with candidates last week are said to have made their decision on the identity of Neil Lennon's successor, with Manchester United legend and current assistant manager Ryan Giggs not in contention for the post - despite speculation to the contrary.

Nigel Adkins and Bryan McDermott have been heavily linked in recent weeks, while Chris Powell, himself a former front runner, has taken up a role at Derby County.

Steve Evans, who was sacked by Leeds United last week, is being touted for the job at Macron Stadium, as has Russell Slade following his departure from Cardiff City.
