Peterborough United have confirmed the signing of Hayden White, who will link up with the club when his contract at Bolton expires on June 30.

White will be one of 20 players to depart Macron Stadium this summer, three years since joining Wanderers' youth set-up after coming through the ranks at Sheffield Wednesday.

The 21-year-old made just five senior appearances for the Trotters and spent the majority of the campaign on loan at Blackpool, impressing Posh manager Grant McCann enough to offer him a two-year deal at the ABAX Stadium.

Commenting on the signing of White, McCann told Peterborough's official website: "Hayden is someone that I believe will bring us good competition at right-back.

"He is an attack-minded individual very much in the mould of Mark Little and I am pleased to have him on board so early."

White echoed the sentiments of his new manager, expressing his relief at having arranged a new club so quickly following his release by Bolton.

"I know what Peterborough are all about in terms of their style of play and that suits me down to the ground," White said.

"I saw in the game recently just how good they are, the players are all fighting for one another and I am really happy to be here.

"It is good to get everything sorted before the summer and I can look forward to pre-season now. There are some good players at the club and I am excited to get started."
