Over a year since their last win on the road, Bolton revisit the scene of that success when they travel to Cardiff City on Saturday.

Having failed to pick up three points away from home in over 12 months, Wanderers will walk out at the Cardiff City Stadium hoping for a repeat of last season's remarkable 3-0 victory in the Welsh capital.

Interim manager Jimmy Phillips could be handed a double boost ahead of the game, with news that Dorian Dervite and Gary Madine are closing in on returns from ankle and hip injuries, respectively.

Oscar Threlkeld impressed in an otherwise poor team display against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday and could retain his place in defence, while a late assessment will be given to Emile Heskey as he looks to prove his fitness ahead of a third game in a week.

Wellington Silva (groin) and Max Clayton (hamstring) remain the long-term injury absentees, meaning further opportunities could be handed to young talent such as Kaiyne Woolery, Tom Walker and Alex Samizadeh.

Cardiff boss Russell Slade will be hoping to call upon the services of Bruno Ecuele, after he returned to training following a bout of malaria.

The Gabon defender was released from hospital at the start of the week and could come back into contention, after missing the Bluebirds' previous two games.

Kenneth Zohore came off the bench to score in defeat at Brentford last time out and could be handed a first start for the club, while Anthony Pilkington may be pushed into a wide position to accomodate the 22-year-old.
