Neil Danns won his 4th international cap on Tuesday, as he helped Guyana progress in the Caribbean Cup with a 1-0 victory over Puerto Rico.

On the heels of last week's 7-0 thrashing of Anguilla, combined with Puerto Rico's 4-0 win over the same opposition, Guyana knew progression into the second round of the qualification process was assured.

Knowing anything but defeat would see the Golden Jaguars advance as group winners, they took the lead on 65 minutes at the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, as Solomon Austin netted the only goal of the game.

The win means Guyana's quest to reach the 2017 tournament will continue, with games against fellow qualifiers Curacao and Suriname set to be played in June.

The final list of participants in next year's competition will be decided in November, when qualification and play-off fixtures reach a conclusion.
