Christopher Sarginson will referee Saturday's Championship fixture between Bristol City and Bolton, replacing the previously listed James Adcock.
Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to Preston North End on Saturday, while City were 2-1 winners at Fulham on the same afternoon.
Sarginson, who will now take charge of the game, has officiated 26 matches so far this season - issuing 76 yellow cards and two red.
His most recent outing was on March 12, when he was the man in the middle for Hartlepool United's 3-1 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge in League Two. The Staffordshire official produced one yellow card in that game, which was shown to Daggers forward Christian Doidge.
Sarginson's last match in charge of Bolton was in January 2014, when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Middlesbrough at the Reebok Stadium. Two players entered the book that day, with Chris Eagles the name taken from the Wanderers side.
The last time he refereed a Bristol City fixture was in February 2015, as they ran out 2-0 winners over Peterborough United at Ashton Gate. One player was cautioned that evening - Posh's Michael Smith.
