Liam Feeney's Bolton career could be brought to an end earlier than expected, after it emerged he is on the verge of joining Ipswich Town on loan.
Despite featuring heavily for a Wanderers side that prop up the Championship table, Feeney has enjoyed the most productive season during his time at Macron Stadium - weighing in with five goals and a further five assists.
He is due to fall out of contract in the summer and with relegation to League One looking inevitable, the Trotters' new owners are looking to reduce costs as quickly as possible, as highlighted by the dismissal of manager Neil Lennon earlier on Tuesday.
Reports linking Feeney with a January move away from Bolton proved false, but a temporary stint at Portman Road, with a view to making the move permanent at the end of the campaign, appears to be close.
