The University of Bolton will return as sponsor of Bolton Wanderers next season, after agreeing a deal to succeed ROK Mobile.

The university will work in association with Keating Supercars, a project part-funded by the town's higher education provider, in a deal similar to the previous link-up with FibrLec, who were principal sponsor between 2013 and 2015.

The deal will replace the existing arrangement with ROK Mobile, who still had another 12 months of a two-year contract in place.

Speaking about the new sponsorship package, a university spokesman said: "The university's name will appear proudly on the club's latest shirt in a spirit of collaboration with the new chairman.

"The university wishes the club every success under the new arrangements. The university will continue to assist the club in any way feasible.

"The University of Bolton continues to work with BWFC, notwithstanding its recent difficult times, and is proud of the club and town.

"The university regards itself as central to the community of Bolton and therefore shares a lot in common with the football club. The university's spin-out company FibrLec was principal sponsor of BWFC for two seasons - 2013-14 and 2014-15.

"The university is delighted, thanks to the ongoing generosity of Keating Supercars, to be able to show in such a visible way our ongoing commitment to the club in its new era."
