Neil Lennon is unsure what the future holds for Bolton, who will appear at the High Court for a third time on Monday to contest a winding-up order from HM Revenue & Customs.

After two previous hearings were adjourned, the most recent of which due to documents being received citing a takeover had been agreed, Wanderers return to the capital with doubts still surrounding the Sports Shield bid, which has yet to receive clearance from Football League authorities.

Unconfirmed reports on Saturday suggested office staff at Macron Stadium had been informed of a potential threat of administration ahead of the court appearance and, speaking after the Trotters' defeat at Leeds United that afternoon, Lennon admitted to being unaware of what could happen.

"It's been very difficult," Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester. "We still don't know if we've got a takeover.

"We'll have to wait and see. Whether it's enough or too late, I don't know.

"We're in the High Court on Monday. We've been able to extend it twice, but I'm not too sure we'll be able to do it a third time."
