Upon hearing the devastating news of Phil Gartside's death on Wednesday, Bolton players past and present took to Twitter to pay tribute to the Wanderers chairman.
Gartside, who had been on the board since 1988 and appointed chairman in 1999, passed away after a brief battle against cancer.
Messages of support quickly began to filter through on social media, with the majority opting to focus on the good times he helped oversee during his time at the helm - including star names such as Kevin Davies, Youri Djorkaeff and a man who has diced with death himself, Fabrice Muamba.
