Bolton boss Neil Lennon has revealed his frustration regarding ongoing speculation over the futures of Mark Davies, Zach Clough and Josh Vela.

Davies was absent from Wanderers' defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, after holding talks with the Owls over a potential switch to Hillsborough, while Clough was forced to settle for a place amongst the substitutes after holding talks over a transfer to Bristol City.

Speaking after Tuesday's loss in Yorkshire, Lennon admitted the situation was 'becoming farcical' and appeared to criticise a lack of transparency in terms of information passed to him when attempting to prepare a team selection.

"It's becoming farcical now because there is no information," Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester.

"We've lost Mark Davies for the last two games. I don't know if a deal has been done or not. I've lost Mark Davies for the last two games when he could have been playing for me and I can't afford to lose that quality of player - nobody has told me anything.

"It's the same with Zach. He's got a slight hip problem at the minute, plus he's been down to Bristol (City) for talks and nothing has happened from that so it's become a bit of a pain in the neck, to tell the truth."

Lennon also revealed Bolton had rejected an offer from Cardiff City for in-demand Vela, following reports on Tuesday that Trotters owner Eddie Davies had personally stepped in to prevent the versatile player from making a move to the Bluebirds.

"There's nothing in that," he said. "I spoke to Josh and he said he hadn't heard anything. A bid came in but it wasn't accepted and that's it."
