Josh Vela will be assessed ahead of kick-off, as he faces a fitness test on a knee injury ahead of Bolton's game against Fulham on Saturday.

After scoring his first senior goal in Wanderers' 2-2 draw at Charlton Athletic on Tuesday, the occasion ended on a sour note after Vela was stretchered off at The Valley with what was initially feared to be a serious injury.

However, the 22-year-old has responded to treatment on a jarred knee and is in contention to retain his place in the squad, although Derik Osede is on standby to come in should Vela fail to prove his fitness.

Darren Pratley is expected to return from the concussion which prevented him from travelling to the capital during the week, while Zach Clough may be rested after coming through 90 minutes on his return to the side last time out.

Dorian Dervite is struggling to overcome a knee problem suffered against Cardiff City, while Shola Ameobi is unavailable because of a groin strain, meaning he joins an injury list also featuring hamstring victims Wellington Silva and Max Clayton.

Fulham go into the game as the highest goalscorers in the Championship, but also have the second-worst defence.

Two key members of that backline are the former Bolton duo of Andy Lonergan and Tim Ream, who are both likely to start on their first returns to Macron Stadium since leaving earlier in the year.

Scott Parker is back in contention after recovering from a long-term ankle injury, but there will be no places for Jack Grimmer (ankle) and Ryan Tunnicliffe (hamstring).
