Preston North End officials have met with their Bolton counterparts to discuss the potential purchase of Wanderers' Euxton training centre.

With financial advisor Trevor Birch assisting with a sale of the club, Bolton are looking to raise capital to keep them ticking over whilst remaining under the ownership of Eddie Davies.

One potential source of income could be about to come from an unlikely source, with Preston approaching the Trotters and arranging multiple visits to their base in Euxton, which lies on the former site of ROF Chorley - a Royal Ordnance Factory originally opened for munitions filling ahead of World War II.

Following the opening of the Eddie Davies Academy in October 2008, the long-term plan was to migrate to the site off Lostock Lane, and any sale of their first-team base in Euxton would likely lead to those plans finally coming to fruition.
