Macron Stadium is bound to be full of emotion on Saturday, as Bolton play host to Cardiff City with doubts over the very future of the club itself.

Wanderers are reported to be close to finding new owners, although speculation elsewhere suggests they could be placed into voluntary administration if a deal isn't concluded as early as Friday, with players yet to be paid for the month of November.

Neil Lennon's side were 3-0 winners in both of last season's games against the Bluebirds, but they face a more difficult task this time around having lost two of the players who started against Brentford on Monday night.

Mark Davies will miss the game through suspension, after picking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign against the Bees, while Max Clayton could be out until the summer if surgery is required on a hamstring injury he picked up in that same game.

Davies' absence could see Jay Spearing return to the side, while news that Clayton will be unavailable could provide Tom Walker with a route back into first-team action, after he returned to training following a hip injury.

Dean Moxey is back in contention after recovering from a toe injury which has forced him to miss the last two months of action, although the recent performances of Jose Manuel Casado means he faces a difficult task to displace the Spaniard.

David Wheater and Neil Danns will both turn out for the 100th time in Wanderers colours should they take to the field, but two players who won't be joining them are Zach Clough and Wellington Silva, who are out with shoulder and hamstring injuries, respectively.

Bolton Wanderers: from: Amos, Rachubka, Fitzsimons, Gouano, Moxey, Dervite, Osede, Casado, Pisano, Wilson, Wheater, Holding, Vela, Feeney, Spearing, Danns, Pratley, Twardzik, Woolery, Walker, Kamara, Brattan, Madine, Heskey, Dobbie, Ameobi
