Bankes to Referee Bolton v Sheffield Wednesday

Peter Bankes will referee Tuesday's Championship fixture between Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday at Macron Stadium.

Bolton go into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, while the Owls were beaten 3-1 at Burnley on the same afternoon.

Bankes, who will take charge of the game, has officiated six matches so far this season - issuing 24 yellow cards.

His last outing was on September 6, when he was the man in the middle for Coventry City's 2-1 win at Burton Albion in League One. The Merseyside official produced two yellow cards in that game, with one going to each side.

He has never previously refereed either Bolton or Sheffield Wednesday, with the midweek clash just his sixth at Championship level.
