Fulham have completed the signing of Bolton defender Tim Ream for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £1.75million.

Ream has signed a four-year contract at Craven Cottage, with the club having the option of extending the deal for a further 12 months.

The 27-year-old joined Wanderers from New York Red Bulls in January 2012 and went on to make 126 appearances for the club.

He had looked set to conclude a switch to Queens Park Rangers earlier in the month, but a late bid from Fulham, who have an established history of signing American players, was too good an opportunity to turn down, according to the man himself.

Speaking to Fulham's official website, Ream said: "I'm more than pleased to be here.

"It's been a long tome coming now. Over the past week and a half it's gone back and forth so I'm glad its finally sorted.

"The biggest thing was the history, walking into the training ground and feeling the vibe around the club and the success that previous American players have had here."

During his time at Bolton, Ream won back-to-back Player of the Year awards, in 2014 and 2015, respectively, as well as successfully transitioning into one of the most respected left-backs in the Championship.
