Bolton boss Neil Lennon has confirmed a deal is in place to sell Tim Ream to Queens Park Rangers and hopes to use the money to finance two moves of his own.

Ream will discuss personal terms with the Hoops on Thursday, ahead of what is reported to be a £1.75million transfer that could eventually rise up to £2million based on conditions such as promotion.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's Championship fixture at Middlesbrough, Lennon revealed his admiration for Ream but admitted he hopes to use the player's upcoming departure to improve his squad - whilst dismissing a link to Cardiff City forward Kenwyne Jones.

"A deal has been agreed with QPR," Lennon said. "I'm not sure whether it's been completed yet but I'd imagine it will be today.

"We're looking to spend some of the money to bring players in. It frees up a wage and we'll look to use that to hopefully bring two players in before the weekend.

"I don't want to tempt fate but I'm hoping to get things concluded over the next couple of days and have at least one of them in for the weekend.

"Tim is a good player and he's been very consistent for us, but you adopt an approach with a deal like this. You have to balance off whether it's good the squad and is it good for the club.

"I feel that if we can get a couple of players in, in certain areas, then it will improve the squad and financially we're getting a good fee for a player and maybe add-ons as well due to further success for him."
