Robert Hall and Conor Wilkinson were both on the scoresheet on Saturday, as they made their league debuts for MK Dons and Barnsley, respectively.

Hall, who will spend the final year of his Bolton contract on loan with the Dons, opened the scoring with just five minutes on the clock, as Karl Robinson's side cruised to a 4-1 victory at Rotherham United in their first ever game at Championship level.

Matt Derbyshire levelled for Rotherham on 13 minutes, but a Danny Collins own-goal and a Dean Bowditch strike sent the visitors in 3-1 up at the break, before substitute Carl Baker completed the rout 15 minutes from time to send the Dons top of the table.

Wilkinson, meanwhile, took just four minutes to open his goalscoring account for Barnsley, as he shrugged off multiple challenges before firing low past Chesterfield goalkeeper Tommy Lee.

However, unlike Hall, Wilkinson was to be on the losing side as second-half goals from Jay O'Shea, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Sam Morsy gave the Spireites victory on the opening day of the League One campaign.
