Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Bolton midfielder Sanmi Odelusi, for a fee believed to be in the region of £50,000.

Odelusi joined Wanderers in 2009 and progressed through the youth system, before making his senior debut in a 3-2 defeat at Charlton Athletic in March 2013.

The 22-year-old went on to make a total of nine first-team appearances for the Trotters, whilst also spending time on loan at both MK Dons and Coventry City.

Odelusi has signed a three-year contract at the DW Stadium and Latics boss Gary Caldwell admits the player's time at Coventry last season was a deciding factor in his bid to take him across Lancashire.

"He has bags of potential," Caldwell told Wigan's official website.

"He is still young, the right age and profile for the squad we are trying to build here and we feel he can be an important addition in time.

"He got a great taste of League One last season with Coventry and understands the demands of this division."
