Matt Mills has been officially unveiled at Nottingham Forest, who he joins on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Bolton.

Mills, who has spent the last three seasons at Macron Stadium, is reunited with former Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman at the City Ground.

The 28-year-old joined the Trotters in a reported £2million move from Leicester City in July 2012 and went on to make a total of 94 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals, before being informed that he wouldn't be offered a new deal at the end of last season.

Mills joins Forest hoping to banish memories of his most recent visit, when he was sent off as Neil Lennon's side were on the receiving end of a 4-1 defeat back in February.

Speaking about the latest chapter in his career, Mills admitted the prospect of playing under Freedman for a second time made the move difficult to turn down.

"I'm delighted to be here and to be linking up with the manager again," Mills told Forest's official website.

"It's a good thing for me that I know the way he works and vice versa.

"Sometimes when you move to a new club it's a strange feeling in terms of having to prove yourself and maybe acting differently.

"This is a very comfortable situation for me. It's just a case of bedding in and taking it from there."
