Former Bolton midfielder Ryo Miyaichi will join St. Pauli on July 1, 2015, when his contract with Arsenal comes to an end.

Miyaichi, who had a spell on loan with Wanderers in 2012, signed professional forms with the Gunners in January 2011 but has spent the majority of the last four years away from the Emirates Stadium - with Feyenoord, Wigan Athletic, FC Twente and Jong FC Twente.

Aided by blistering pace, the 22-year-old was once tipped for stardom in the game but has struggled to live up to the hype after earning himself a glowing reputation during his time at Feyenoord.

Capped twice by Japan, Miyaichi will sign a three-year deal with the 2. Bundesliga side - the German equivalent of the Championship - and he hopes to make his mark now he knows where his future lies, rather than the alternative of a temporary stint.

"I am very happy," Miyaichi told St. Pauli's official website. "I would like to thank all the staff of the FC St. Pauli, who have helped me, and my adviser, that I now belong to the team.

"The first contact was already more than a month ago. Discussions with Thomas Meggle and Ewald Lienen have convinced me, also I know that the club has fantastic fans. I look forward to the stadium and can not wait to stand here on the lawn.

"The FC St. Pauli is in Japan a very famous club, the Club so far for me was not unknown.

"I want to help the team. We want to achieve a better table space than last year and I'll do my best.

"I am very happy to have signed for three years. In recent years, I have always been loaned to another club. That was not always easy for me. All the more, I hope that the FC St. Pauli is my new home."
