Bolton will step up their pursuit of Manchester United's Ben Amos, after it emerged Adam Bogdan is closing in on a free transfer to Liverpool.

Bogdan, who has been with Wanderers since 2007, is currently on international duty with the Hungary squad but is expected to sign forms at Anfield next week, where he will provide competition for Simon Mignolet following Brad Jones' departure.

Amos played nine games during an emergency loan spell at Macron Stadium last season and will be a free agent when his United contract expires at the end of the month.

The 25-year-old has previously expressed a desire to sign a permanent deal with the club, although Wanderers are sure to face competition from both Premier League and Championship clubs for the player's signature.
