May 20, 2015 - Free Agent Set to Sign...

Alan Nixon, a man who divides opinion amongst Bolton supporters, yesterday revealed Wanderers are on the verge of completing their first signing of the summer, with an out-of-contract Championship forward set to make a free transfer to Macron Stadium.

No names were provided, although it is likely to be printed in Wednesday's print edition of The Sun, but that hasn't stopped fans from speculating over the identity of the man in question.

Gary Madine, who will depart Sheffield Wednesday next month, appears to have attracted the most talk, with spells on loan at Coventry City and Blackpool helping put a once-promising career back on track, while Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, of Bristol City for another few weeks, has also been linked with a move.

Bolton 'Keepers to Forest, Ex-Spurs Man to Bolton

Adam Bogdan's contract at Bolton comes to an end on June 30 and despite reports that he has been offered a new deal worth £18,000-a-week, rumours over his future continue to spread.

Earlier this month, Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman rejected speculation that he was interested in linking up with his former player, but local press in the East Midlands continue to link Bogdan and fellow Wanderers stopper Andy Lonergan with summer transfers to the City Ground. Today's top rumour may be about a forward being linked to Wanderers, but reports elsewhere suggest Lennon is lining up a potential swoop for former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Solueymane Coulibaly, who is free to leave Italian club Bari this summer after a disappointing spell out on loan at Pistoiese. (

Finally, news of Craig Davies' impending release at Macron Stadium has hit the local press in Derbyshire and one newspaper has urged Chesterfield boss Dean Saunders to snap up the former Spireites man, who was part of the squad that won promotion to League One in 2010/11. (The Star)
